ONE TOOL, MANY WAYS TO CONNECT

What will your next code do?

How Contact card QR codes work

A vCard QR code embeds a digital contact card. Compatible readers offer to save it to an address book. This tool uses vCard 3.0, a widely recognized format, and includes only the fields you choose to fill in.

Practical ways to use it

  • Add a contact code to a printed business card.
  • Share a booth representative’s details at a trade fair.
  • Provide a service contact on equipment paperwork.

How to scan it

Open a camera or contact-aware QR reader, choose the contact prompt, and review the details before saving. Some camera apps need a separate reader to import vCards.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Too many fields make the code dense; omit details that do not help the recipient.
  • Do not put private home addresses on publicly displayed cards.
  • Some address-book apps interpret organization and address fields differently.

vCard or a website link on your business card?

Choose vCard when you want the scanner to offer a contact they can save. The name, number, and other selected fields are embedded in the image. Choose a URL QR code when you want to open a profile or contact page that you can update later. That page needs to remain online.

Choose the contact details people will save

Start with a first name, last name, international phone number, and email. Add an organization or job title if it helps identify you. The generator uses vCard 3.0 and omits empty optional fields. The address is stored in the work street-address field, so review how your audience’s contact app imports it. A center logo decorates the QR image; it is not saved as a contact photo.

Test your QR code before sharing

Keep a clear border around the code, use strong contrast, and test the final file on more than one phone. A beautiful code is only useful if it scans. Read the QR code design guide for logo and color choices, or check QR print sizes and file formats before ordering a print run.
